I do hope the author is right.

The only thing worse than WW3 is total subjugation of free humanity as a consequence of pre-agreed compromises by all the power brokers of the world.

Pray they’ve lost control of the geopolitics, because it also means they’ve lost control of the narrative & us.

Best wishes

Mike

Their agenda can only be furthered in peacetime. And the only way they can be ousted is via a complete collapse of the current system. They are a cancer that needs to be cut out in surgery that has a 50/50 chance of killing the patient. This means a lot of people are going to die for even a chance of breaking free from their yolk

Way back "in the beginning" Russia was very clear what it wanted...a neutral Ukraine without NATO forces at it's border. In our 'wisdom' we assumed Putin was lying and of course now we will never know. The US interest is to allow Russia to decimate Ukraine in order to keep the war machine profitable and possibly to cover up some Biden fraud in that part of the world. Zelenski is a hapless pawn who has been lionized by the world for his "strength and courage". What mere mortal could resist this? Meantime back in DC our elected leaders ignore the risk of starvation to third world countries and continue to blame Putin for his response to the sanctions placed on him. (it says a lot about this situation the Russia's economy is thriving while western economies are on the brink). And more than a few of the uniparty elites in DC are clamoring for a nuclear confrontation.

All as the 'patriotic' population look on in complete apathy while those who see this situation for what it is are called traitors.

"The Parties agree that an armed attack"

I stopped at the word "armed." Russia doesn't need to attack by arms. Eg, they can cut Lithuania's electrical power & let them pay top $$ for LNG to power a jerry-rigged grid. Who knows what other non-military pain Russia can inflict.

Russia can still supply Kalingrad by air & sea.

Agreed. Those measures are almost guaranteed at this point.

Thank you for this balanced clear headed analysis.

I hope cool heads do in fact prevail, I agree with Mike Yeadon too.

The incredible tragic irony here is if course the absolute ignorance of the notion of danger hovering over all our heads.

The average Australian, simply has no idea there is a War, - ANYWHERE.

-Thanks to a determined Media who “keep the minds of the people empty and their bellies full”

Ukraine might as well be a football team, for all the reasonably educated average Australian is concerned.

To put this into perspective...

The human race is at the most dangerous point it has ever encountered. The Cuban Missile Crisis doesn't even come close. And people carry on their lives like all is well.

And what should people do? Go histerical? It is only normal to carry on as usual, as long as possible. It is what people do.

Is Lithuania being a stickler for sanctions?

Transit via the Sulwalki Corridor is protected, guaranteed and enshrined in treaties the Lithuanians and Russians signed in the early 90s. I'm pretty sure these treaties are legally binding. Sanctions have no legal precedent. Lithuanians seems willing to set fire to these treaties they signed for to enforce sanctions that would be illegal in their particular case. There is no way they took this upon themselves. Someone is pulling their strings.
